Bobbed 4.0 Gallon Gas Tank Kit 1980 / 1999 FLT 1980 / 1999 FLT

Gas tank has a left side petcock fitting and a fuel capacity of 4.0 gallons. Tank kit includes a chrome cast dash five lamp dash base a six post bobbed type key switch chrome bung style gas caps and mounting hardware. A 2240:1 ratio speedometer and front wheel drive cable come with the kit. Drilling for rear mount is required for 1980-1985 models. Use of a shorter seat may be required. Check the tank for flaws and fit before painting. Do not grind or sand the seams or joints. Clean the inside of the tank. It is suggested to pressure test and use a tank sealer. We suggest using Kreem gas tank combo kit to clean condition and seal to help stop leaks and prevent corrosion. Check petcock opening making sure the petcock can be easily installed. Petcock fitting should be masked or plugged during painting for easy installation of petcock. All tanks or tank sets will require hand fitting to give correct alignment for dash and fuel line fitment. Dash will also have to be shimmed when installed to achieve correct height.
