King 3.1 Gallon Gas Tank 1958 / 1978 XL

Gas tank is single cap style with a right side petcock location that uses 1955-74 type petcock and has a fuel capacity of 3.1 gallons. The tank uses the same mounting as an original tank. Tank is made 2 wider than stock and includes stock style mounts. Please test fitment before painting. Tank weld seams may require filler to meet your individual requirements. Do no grind or sand the seams as this may cause leaks. We suggest using Kreem gas tank combo kit to clean condition and seal. This will help to stop leaks and prevent corrosion. Check petcock opening making sure the petcock can be easily installed. Petcock fitting should be masked or plugged during painting for easy installation of petcock. *NOTE: UPS may consider this part as packaged oversize for shipment as compared to the actual weight which will result in higher shipping costs.
