XL Battery Tray Kit Zinc Plated 1991 / 2003 XL

Zinc plated battery tray kit for XL models allows battery conversions of electric start. To utilize an 12N16 battery and a lunch box style XLCH oil tank. 12N16 battery gives good cranking power as many batteries are available. For use with lunch box oil tank 1973-1978 version. Order battery top cover and strap kit separately. Tray can be adapted to fit 1977-1978 XLCH models. *NOTE: Updated electric start battery box bolts to existing mounts on 1971-1978 XLCH modles. Original battery is 12N74A models. Updated version will accept 12N164B heavy amp batteries conventional acid or AGM sealed. For use with kick starter oil tanks. *Installation Notes: Battery box conversion requires 2 (5/16 -18 male-female) ISO mounts. Use 5/16 -18 tap to re-tap 1/4 -20 holes in bracket welded to frame. (See photos) Use drill to clear holes for 5/16 -18 rubber isolator in frame holes.
